Nestled within 750 acres of majestic pine and birch forests, Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert summer camps reside alongside the pristine lake so many youth call “home.” Located in the Brainerd Lakes area of North-Central Minnesota, a mere two and a half hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul, this intimate setting makes for
an ideal environment to develop life-skills, meet new friends and enjoy an active outdoor environment. Since 1909, Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert have been successful in creating a secure summer camp environment for children that encourages the discovery of self and a sense of wonder in the natural world.
Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert's Tennis Camps offer a unique opportunity for campers of all ages to participate in a week of intensive tennis instruction, practice and play. With one instructor for every 4 campers, quality instruction for the tournament player as well as the junior player is the key focus.
Five hours of instruction each day is scheduled and there is ample time for informal play, as well. Facilities include 12 laykold courts, ball machines, hitting walls, and video taping. Using drills, games and contests, our staff emphasize the fun of the game while stressing sportsmanship and etiquette. Competitive learning situations are provided through tournaments and the USTA skill testing program.
Directors, Todd Ruedisili and Eric Stacey are experienced coaches and youth leaders. They are long time Camp Lincoln/Camp Lake Hubert Staff Members and have been on the Tennis Camp Staff for over 26 and 11 years respectively. Todd is a USTA Pro and Certified Referee whose experience includes Head Pro at Grand View Lodge, at Tanque Verde Ranch and Head Men's Tennis Coach at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Eric is the Athletic Director at the College of St. Catherine , in St. Paul , Minn. where he served as Head Tennis Coach for nine years, twice being named Coach of the Year by the MIAC. Assisting Todd and Eric are a group of respected high school tennis coaches, pros and players.”
No other Tennis Camp can offer the level of skill instruction in addition to all the benefits of a traditional camp experience. Our campers are not housed in dorms, but in rustic log-style cabins. Campers eat three meals daily in the camp dining hall, where all meals are served family-style with a selection of healthy food to choose from. Resident counselors supervise the campers during cabin time, meals, evening activities and other special events. While tennis instruction and play are the focus of the morning and afternoon sessions, the late afternoon open-swim period and early evening programs provide the opportunity to experience some of the more traditional camp activities, such as horseback riding, sailing, riflery, archery and swimming.
